Devised by Richard Vogt whilst working in Japan for Kawasaki, the Ha 137 was
developed around a wing based on a single strong tubular spar which also would
serve as the primary fuel tank. Though tests proved the the aircraft to be
tough and manuverable and showed considerable promise, the Ha 137 was dropped
in 1936 by the RLM for political reasons.
